Marion
Vernon Brooks, 81, of Urbana, OH passed away January 5, 2010 in Port Orange,
Florida. He was born in Urbana, OH on July 25, 1928.
Marion was the owner of Brooks Racing Tires in Urbana and a dealer for
Hoosier Racing Tire (Lakeville, Indiana) for over fifty-four years. As part of
the Hoosier family Marion was instrumental in the development of the Hoosier
brand.
Marion was a gentleman who will long be remembered for his love of short
track auto racing and the respect and caring he had for others. He made friends
from all over the country, especially racing friends. We will always remember
Marion for wearing his Hoosier purple suspenders, and greeting people with a
smile and his favorite phrase: “How are you doing today?”
Marion is survived by his wife, Martha Brooks. Hoosier would like to
remember Martha and the rest of Marion’s family with our prayers and sympathy
at this difficult time.
Condolences may be made to the family at www.vernonfh.com.
