The new 18x9x8 Hoosier Jr Dragster racing tire turned on 17 win lights this past weekend at Rockingham Dragway at the 4th annual Southeastern Jr Dragster Spring Nationals. Samuel Peterson of Martin, Michigan entered into four separate races driving two identically prepared American Race Car chassis.
At the end of third round Peterson remained in all classes, two 7.90 index classes as well as two all run bracket classes. “The 60 foot times on both cars did not vary .005 all day long” stated Peterson. All in all Peterson was able to turn on 17 total win lights on the day winning the Sunday 7.90 index class, a semifinalist in the Saturday Bracket class, a ¼ finalist in the Saturday Bracket and to the round of 11 in the Saturday 7.90 index class.
“We made a total of 24 runs between the two cars and the repeatability of these new Hoosier tires was excellent,” exclaimed Peterson.
Peterson’s home track, US 131 Motorsports Park, does not start racing until the end of April, heading south and getting a jump start to the racing season has already paid dividends for both Hoosier Racing Tire and Peterson for the 2017 racing season.
